IITD AWARDS 2022

Harvest would like to congratulate all the finalists and winners of the IITD Awards 2022.

We would particularly like to congratulate the Pearse Walsh Award 2022 finalists. ICOS Skillnet, ICOS, Dairygold & Teagasc were the worthy winners with their submissions on “Sustainability Programme – Practical Steps to more Sustainable Farming Systems”

We would also like to commend Intel with their “Building ‘transformational’ leadership capabilities to deliver the next wave of strategic imperatives for Intel from Ireland” programme and Primeline Group with their “Primeline Forward-Thinking Leaders” programme who were both shortlisted as finalists.

The judging panel reviewed 3 very strong applications and experienced 3 excellent presentations. In the end the winner by a narrow margin was ICOS Skillnet, ICOS, Dairygold & Teagasc for their “Sustainability Programme – Practical Steps to more Sustainable Farming Systems” initiative.

This entry and the presentation of it excited the judges with a truly inspiring project aimed at reducing carbon footprint by influencing the behaviour of individuals in the farming community. This project represents a huge collaborative effort starting with ICOS Skillnet and stretching to Teagasc, The Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine (DAFM), Bord Bia, University College Cork (UCC) and others. The presentation by Billy, Tom, Eamonn and Seamus brought to life the challenges and scalability opportunities of this initiative with clarity, insight, and purpose.

The judges believed that the initiative demonstrates an innovative approach to learning and the transfer of learning which reflects the spirit of the Pearse Walsh Award.

Thanks to all of you that applied for the Pearse Walsh Award 2022. We look forward to seeing what exciting new programmes you will have on offer in 2023.
